Charlene Ryan brings extensive HR leadership experience across some of the UK’s most recognised organisations.

Prior to joining ABM, Charlene held senior roles such as Head of People Strategy at Ocado Logistics, Director of HR – North Retail at Sainsbury’s, and HR Director at Royal Mail Group, where they led large-scale teams across Property, Procurement & Facilities Management, Parcels Operations, and Central Operations.

Throughout her career, Charlene has successfully developed and executed multi-year people strategies that align with complex business goals. Her expertise spans leadership and organisational change, talent development, performance management, and building inclusive, high-performing cultures. A strong advocate for employee engagement, Charlene has a track record of empowering frontline and operational teams, ensuring they feel valued and supported.

With deep experience in managing senior stakeholders and leading negotiations with trade unions, Charlene has played a critical role in driving successful transformation and delivering sustainable people outcomes.

Charlene was drawn to ABM by the strong alignment between their personal values and the company’s commitment to people and service excellence. As Vice President of Human Resources for ABM UK & Ireland, she leads the HR function to drive engagement, build capability, and support the continued growth and success of the business.
